AEVR ANNOUNCES JUNE 8 CONGRESSIONAL BRIEFING—DRY EYE: TODAYS RESEARCH, TOMORROWS SOLUTIONS

Today, the Alliance for Eye and Vision Researchs (AEVR) Decade of Vision 2010-2020 Initiative announced its Dry Eye: Todays Research, Tomorrows Solutions Congressional Briefing, to be held June 8, 2016, from 12 Noon 1:15 pm in House Rayburn Office Building Room B-339. Featured speaker Kelly K. Nichols, O.D., M.P.H., Ph.D. (Dean of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry) will address the burden of dry eye and the research to treat and prevent it—the latter funded, in part, by the National Eye Institute (NEI) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The Briefing is co-sponsored by Research to Prevent Blindness, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Women in Ophthalmology, Womens Eye Health, Society for Womens Health Research, and Sjögrens Syndrome Foundation.
Commenting on this upcoming event, AEVR Executive Director James Jorkasky said, When Dr. Nichols last spoke on this topic in 2006, it was the most-attended Congressional Briefing to-date.
