House LHHS Appropriations Subcommittee Marks Up FY2011 Appropriations Bill for NIH, NEI

The Labor HHS Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee marked up the FY2011 spending bill that includes funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Eye Institute (NEI). The bill funds the NIH at a level of $32 billion, the same as the level in President Obama’s budget proposal and an increase of $1 billion over FY2010. The amounts for each NIH Institute have not been released yet.
The full committee has not scheduled a date for marking up the bill at this time.
