NAEVR Strategic Plan

NAEVR has a comprehensive Strategic Plan built upon the following cornerstone activities:

  • Expand the qualitative and quantitative messages about the value and cost-effectiveness of the federal investment in eye and vision research, as well as the societal contribution that eye and vision researchers make to the nation's and the world's vision health.


  • Expand the base of "Champions" on Capitol Hill for adequately funding the NEI, specifically, and the NIH, generally.


  • Expand and forge new relationships with coalition partners (e.g., medical research funding advocates, disease-focus groups and consumer/patient groups) to enhance the value message of eye and vision research, especially as it relates to the growing problem of vision impairment and eye disease.


  • Expand outreach to the trade and popular press about the value and cost-effectiveness of eye and vision research, especially to build grassroots support for its adequate funding.
